Privacy Policy

TryBeforeDubai (“we”, “us”) is an independent decision-support platform that helps people choose where to live in Dubai. We are not a licensed real estate brokerage; any introductions are to licensed professionals. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@trybeforedubai.com.

• Questionnaire answers (household, budget, work, lifestyle and pet preferences). These normally stay in your browser so you can resume. They are sent to us only if you submit an enquiry or buy a report. When you purchase, we save your answers with your order so we can generate and host your personalised report.
• Enquiry details you give us in the concierge or resident-insight forms: name, email, WhatsApp/phone, budget, household summary, your stated requirement, and (for resident insights) your views on an area.
• Purchase & order data when you buy: what you bought, the amount, currency and time, the email used, and a payment reference. Your card is handled directly by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• Technical data: approximate country (from your connection, used only to show an indicative secondary currency) and standard server logs. We do not use advertising cookies.

• To respond to your enquiry and provide the service you asked for. Basis: your consent and our performance of the service.
• To make the introductions you request to licensed professionals, schools or relocation partners. Basis: your explicit consent, given per enquiry.
• To improve the platform and our matching/cost models. Basis: our legitimate interest, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible.
• To send you optional updates and tips, only if you separately opt in; you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your data. We share it only as needed to deliver what you requested:

• Licensed partners (brokers, schools, relocation/visa professionals), only when you ask for an introduction, and only the details relevant to it. Any referral fees we receive are fixed and disclosed; they never change the recommendations you see.
• Service providers (processors) who run the platform on our behalf, under confidentiality and data-protection terms, namely Stripe (card payments), Supabase (our database, hosted in the EU/London region, where orders and your saved answers are stored), Resend (sending your report link and receipts), Vercel (website hosting and cookieless analytics), and Formspree (forwarding form and order alerts to our inbox).
• Authorities, where we are legally required to.

Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and similar laws, you may request to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@trybeforedubai.com and we'll respond within a reasonable period. You may also clear your locally-stored questionnaire answers at any time by using “reset” in the questionnaire or clearing your browser storage.

We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to help you, then delete or anonymise it. Purchase and payment records are kept for up to 5 years to meet UAE tax and commercial record-keeping rules. Your report stays available on its private link so you can return to it, unless you ask us to delete it. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Some of our providers process data outside the UAE: our database (Supabase) is hosted in the EU/London region, while Stripe, Resend and Vercel may process data in the EU or the United States. Where data leaves the UAE, we rely on established providers that offer an adequate level of protection and appropriate contractual safeguards.

We use only what's necessary to run the site and remember your questionnaire progress (browser local storage). We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We do run Vercel Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it sets nothing on your device, does not follow you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. It reports aggregated page views (which pages are visited, roughly where from, and on what kind of device) and a short list of product events so we can see where people get stuck: opening and finishing the questionnaire and which section they left at, viewing results, opening the cost calculator, comparing areas, opening the map, starting an enquiry, and starting or completing a checkout. These record that a step happened, not who did it, and never carry your answers, name, email, phone or payment details.

Your questionnaire answers stay in your browser and reach us only when you choose to send them:

• If you submit a form (concierge enquiry, results email capture, resident insight), we store what you typed into it, the consent you gave and the time you gave it, so we can reply and show we had your permission to.
• If you buy, we store your order (what you bought, amount, currency, time, the email used and a Stripe payment reference) together with the questionnaire answers your report is generated from, so the report stays at your private link. Stripe handles your card; we never see or store your card number.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
